Representative Mark White Seeks Re-Election to House
Memphis, TN — State Representative Mark White (R-Memphis) has announced that he will seek re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives in the 83rd District. In announcing his decision, Representative White stated, “My family and I are very grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support and encouragement during this process. We are humbled by the overwhelmingly positive comments sent our way,” he continued.
“I am incredibly fulfilled serving the people of the 83rd District in the Tennessee General Assembly. Finishing out the 2nd year of the 106th General Assembly, I am ready to serve the people of District 83 by winning a full 2 year term this November,” stated Representative White.
White was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 during a special election after Representative Brian Kelsey won a special election to the State Senate. Since the election, Representative White has served on the influential House Health and Human Resources Committee and the House Consumer and Employee Affairs Committee.
“I have had the opportunity already to work on issues of importance to my district, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know countless constituents throughout the process,” said Representative White. “I appreciate the support and look forward to running for re-election later this year.”
“We appreciate Mark White’s hard work for the citizens of the 83rd District. I certainly look forward to his continued great service in the House,” said Representative Glen Casada, House Republican Caucus Chairman. “He is a man of great integrity, and the folks of the 83rd District have solid and fair representation in Mark White.”
Representative Mark White serves the 83rd State House District which encompasses part of Shelby County.
