St Jude Children’s Research Hospital: A study by researchers there shows leukemia treatment for kids may not require brain radiation. Bartlett: Doctor John R. Memphis Legal Placement: This service of the Memphis Bar Association has launched a new career website for unemployed or laid off attorneys. Mississippi: Sniping, arguing, threats and brinksmanship, but still no State budget.
DeSoto County: An enormous planned development near Lake Cormorant, called Dunbar Hills, goes before the Planning Commission next month. What makes it special is Ryan’s Ranch, for handicapped children and families. More on Olive Branch’s budget battle over July 4th fireworks. The Site Selection Committee of the County Board of Supervisors has turned in a list of potential new jail sites for the County. The Board also agreed to issue $16 million in bonds, some of which will pay for the new jail. The DeSoto County Animal Shelter will be featured in an upcoming Animal Planet network show.
St Francis Hospital - Memphis: They received Gold and Silver Awards from the American Heart Association. Real Estate: The value of distressed commercial real estate is over $97 billion. The Mortgage Bankers Association reports a sharp rise in loan applications last week.
