The Regional Medical Center: Federal legislation has two provisions tucked inside that may benefit the Med. Fayette County: County school system, which has already spent the budget for substitute teachers for the year, approves the use of using teacher planning time to cover the gaps. The Sheriff’s Department has started a program to allow victims of crimes to track the custody status of offenders. Lakeland: Six proposed new subdivision types are sparking tension between big-lot, estate home owners and small-lot, center-city types. County Communities: It costs Collierville extra to go green with recycling. City of Collierville has their list of Federal stimulus money projects already drawn up.
Tax Season:: The IRS thinks more taxpayers this season may qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit. The Shelby County Assessor’s Office will be sending out appraisal notices soon, and turmoil is expected. |
